President Advocate Duma Gideon Boko is set to officially unveil and launch African Hero, a new initiative aimed at marking what its organisers describe as the beginning of a new chapter for the African continent.
The launch is scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 11:00 at Duma Boko School, located at the corner of Sekoma Road and Basotho Drive in Gaborone.
President Boko, who is also the founding chairperson of African Hero, is expected to lead the official unveiling alongside businessman Zunaid Moti and members of the African Hero team.
The initiative is being launched at a time when African countries continue to explore new approaches to strengthening the continent’s development, leadership, innovation and economic prospects.
According to the organisers, the launch will provide an opportunity to officially introduce African Hero and celebrate the start of a new chapter for Africa.
The launch is expected to bring together selected guests and stakeholders to witness the formal unveiling of the initiative and hear more about its vision and ambitions.
President Boko’s involvement as founding chairperson places the initiative under significant public interest, particularly as Botswana continues to position itself as an active participant in conversations around African development and transformation.
In addition, the official unveiling on Saturday is therefore expected to provide greater clarity on the purpose, structure and future direction of African Hero, as well as the role it intends to play on the continent.
The African Hero launch will consequently mark the first major public unveiling of the initiative, with organisers describing the occasion as the beginning of a new chapter for the African continent.
