Vice President Ndaba Gaolathe has called for capable and visionary leadership to drive new economic initiatives and improve community livelihoods ahead of the upcoming Sefophe by-election.
Speaking over the weekend during the launch of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) candidate, Thabiso Focus Galebotse, Gaolathe expressed confidence that Sefophe could experience meaningful development under Galebotse’s guidance.
Gaolathe noted that Galebotse’s previous local government experience—having served as a councillor—provides him with a deep understanding of the challenges facing residents and the responsibilities of community representation.
He described Galebotse as a people-oriented leader attuned to the needs of the electorate and well-positioned to work alongside residents to address their concerns.
The Vice President stressed the importance of electing leaders who can not only represent their communities effectively, but are also prepared to pursue new economic opportunities that stimulate local development. He emphasized that leadership in communities like Sefophe must focus on creating opportunities, strengthening livelihoods, and ensuring that development directly responds to the needs of ordinary citizens.
With the by-election approaching, the UDC is banking on Galebotse’s background and connection to the community to secure the seat and advance its development agenda. Gaolathe maintained that Sefophe has the potential to thrive, urging residents to support leadership capable of transforming opportunities into tangible community benefits.
