Moagi back in court March end

The former minister of Minerals and Energy, Lefoko Moagi, is set to appear in court on March 2026 for status hearing in his ongoing corruption case.

Moagi was charged with corruption earlier this year.

He was scheduled to appear before the Regional Magistrate court on Thursday morning, but the matter could not proceed as the court cited a mix-up in its schedule. It emerged during the brief session that the courtroom was double-booked.

Currently on bail, the former minister is alleged to have received P4.7 million from New Energy Company through its related company as a token of appreciation for facilitating the issuance its of prospecting licenses across the country.

Meanwhile, the state had previously indicated its intentions to add more accused persons on the matter.
