Access to trade finance remains one of the most significant barriers to intra-African trade and economic growth. While the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) presents unprecedented opportunities for businesses across the continent, many enterprises continue to face challenges in accessing the financing necessary to participate meaningfully in regional and international trade. It is against this backdrop that Ramaphane Law Group is proud to sponsor the upcoming webinar, “Unlocking Trade Finance in Africa,” an initiative organised by TradeVision54 and scheduled for 9 July 2026. The webinar will bring together trade, investment, finance, legal, and supply chain experts from across the continent to explore practical solutions to Africa’s trade finance gap.
The event will feature distinguished speakers and participants from Botswana, Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and other African jurisdictions, creating a unique platform for the exchange of experiences and perspectives from different markets. Such conversations are increasingly important as African economies seek to deepen regional integration, facilitate cross-border trade, and unlock investment opportunities through the AfCFTA framework.
The webinar will be headlined by Dr Enga, Head of Banking Legal Services – Intra-African Trade and Corporate Finance at Afreximbank in Cairo, Egypt. As a leading figure within one of Africa’s foremost trade finance institutions, Dr Enga brings extensive experience in structuring and facilitating trade and investment across the continent. His keynote address is expected to provide valuable insights into the legal, financial, and institutional frameworks shaping Africa’s trade finance ecosystem.

Joining the discussion is Angelina Cumba, an award-winning supply chain expert whose contribution will highlight the critical role of logistics and supply chains in enabling trade across borders. Trade finance and supply chain efficiency are inseparable; without efficient logistics networks, goods cannot move, markets cannot connect, and trade opportunities remain unrealised.
The webinar will also feature Nelson Chilotam Onuoha, a distinguished lawyer, arbitrator, and policy professional whose expertise spans energy, finance, arbitration, and commercial transactions. His insights will contribute to a broader understanding of the legal and commercial frameworks necessary to support investment and trade throughout Africa.
Representing Botswana, B. K. Ramaphane, Managing Partner of Ramaphane Law Group, will share perspectives on Botswana’s trade and investment environment, including the country’s strategic position within regional markets, opportunities for cross-border commerce, and the role of legal frameworks in facilitating trade and investment. His contribution will place Botswana’s experience within a broader continental conversation on unlocking Africa’s economic potential.
As a corporate and commercial law firm with a strong focus on trade, investment, and cross-border transactions, Ramaphane Law Group is honoured to support an initiative that promotes dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and practical solutions to Africa’s trade finance challenges. By bringing together experts from across the continent, the webinar seeks to contribute meaningfully to the ongoing effort to build a more integrated, connected, and prosperous Africa.
